Water Restrictions Continue
The Soquel Creek Water District says that despite the heavy rains of Oct. 13, it is too soon to consider drought conditions over.

"We're thankful for the rainy season to begin, but still want to encourage customers to save water," said Melanie Schumacher, SCWD public information coordinator.

The Soquel Creek Water District draws its water from two underground aquifers which take months of steady rain to recharge. The SCWD and the city of Santa Cruz are both calling for 15 percent water use restrictions to remain in effect through the end of October.
