Save the Salmon Fundraiser
The Monterey Bay Salmon & Trout Project (MBSTP) has since 1976 worked to restore endangered coho salmon, threatened steelhead and Chinook salmon populations in the Monterey Bay. The project operates salt water net pens in Moss Landing and Santa Cruz harbors and has released more than two million Chinook salmon smolts into the bay waters. They also hold training programs in 113 area classrooms and assist government agencies in research.

The MBSTP will hold its 32nd annual fundraising albacore dinner on Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. at the Castroville Recreation Center, 11261 Crane St., Castroville. There will be door prizes, a raffle and silent auction, and no-host cocktails at 6 p.m. Tickets are $17 at the door. For more information, call Mary Jane Rogers at 831-763-0926.
