Thanasis Vassilopoulos gave a full interview in which he talked about the difficult life he lived, when due to a quarrel with his family he had to leave his place and start from scratch again. No friends, no place. But he did it.
In the interview, he said characteristically: “I remember that my uncle Christos came with the big truck, and the man was carrying watermelons and we all got into the truck. We didn’t have any stuff, just some rugs to sit on. Then I think I was suffering from a little depression, and my friends were down and out.” I talk for a long time. My parents did not understand. That’s why we say that we must talk to the children, keep the children busy. We forgive the old ones because they did not know, but now they are not forgiven because now there is information. All this is in front of us, right? We must take care of the children. I spent enough time talking, and I didn’t want to talk at all, I felt empty. Then I met friends here too. The clarinet helped me a lot. I would sit from morning until evening and play and discover my various faults and weaknesses and thus try to correct them. Time passed until I met my friends. Since Then I feel very good. It’s like we put salt on the wound and then it’s gone. It’s not possible without pain. Without having that moment, it’s not possible. Not even with conversation. Especially serious things. Everyone can go through it in a different way. I hurt. But fortunately, all that has passed and now seems far away to me.”
