In particular, in 2022, the net sales of the company, which is active in frozen dough, amounted to 55.38 million euros, compared to 44.08 million in 2021, while the total profit amounted to 19.76 million euros, compared to 17.38 million in 2021.

The profit before tax increased to 5.82 million euros, compared to 5.02 million in 2021, while the net profit after tax closed at 4.58 million euros, compared to 4.31 million in 2021.

New deals “baked” in dough – leaders and “suitors”

“2022 was a challenging year in connection with the constant changes at the socio-economic level, and in connection with the ever-increasing pressure from our competitors. Despite this, Alfa managed for another year to be in first place in the frozen dough segment in retail, ”he noted. The President and CEO of the company, Mr. Dionysis Kokotaris.

The Little Pancakes made all the difference

As Alpha Pastries notes, the further development of the mini pies product category led not only to an increase in share, but also to the development of a specific subcategory.

Also, in the last four months of 2022, the company embarked on three launches: Mini Rollitos, the My Croissants series as well as two new tokens in the Kihi series.

For the HoReCa category, the company has increased sales compared to 2021 and expects a steady upward trend in 2023 as well.

Sell ​​the subsidiary in America

During the fiscal year 2022, and more specifically on 12/20/2022, and after a decision by the Board of Directors, it was decided to transfer (sell) the shares of the American subsidiary Alfa Holdings.

Based on the PSPA dated 27.12.2022, the above transfer was completed at the price of €44,037.03.

Investments of 3.5 million euros

In 2022, Alpha Pastry invested in the range of 3.5 million euros mainly related to construction additions of 1.3 million euros and mechanical equipment of 1.7 million euros.

In fact, it is committed to continuing its investment plan “with the aim of continuous development of the company, for example its participation in the capital increase of Panini Confectioneries SA, which is based in Veria Imathia and continuously shows growth potential”.

Panini Bakery SA is active in the production and distribution of freshly packaged sandwiches, croissants and pastries, with a leading position in the North Greek market.

Entering new markets

Alfa Pastry’s exports also saw a significant increase in 2022, as its products “moved” into new markets.

In particular, the company was able to increase its export sales by 36.32%, and expand its activities in markets such as Israel, Lithuania, Slovakia and Bahrain.

A significant increase in employment

Also noteworthy is the fact that in 2022 the company increased its number of employees by 25.13%, while in the first quarter of 2023 it continued to increase its potential with an increase of 10.95%.

The company employed 483 people on December 31, 2022, compared to 386 people on December 31, 2021, with an undetermined employment relationship.

Development Strategy for 2023

According to management, the company’s prospects for 2023 focus on the following key directions:
– Dynamic support, investment and strategic treatment of the HO.RE.CA channel
– Continued support for existing categories – Expansion and strengthening of export dynamics.
Implementation of new investment plans in mechanical equipment with the aim of expanding into new categories.
