Chile’s President Mapuche has called for the law to be respected before the conflict

Chile’s President Mapuche has called for the law to be respected before the conflict

Our government’s commitment is to change the tide, although this will not be resolved overnight, the president added before leaving for Argentina on his first state visit.

Boric assured the Argentine media that the latest incident in which 16 houses were burned in the central biofio would continue “on the path of dialogue” about the state of violence known as the Southern Macrosone.

“Those who believe that violence is the way to solve anything, I tell them they are wrong,” he added, referring to the treatment of communities such as Araucania, Los Rios and Las Lagos.

The President acknowledged that the management of this problem was “very complex and one of the most complex challenges we face as a state.”

The ruler acknowledged that the Mapuche people were a political conflict that arose out of public order. “The violence in this area was not three weeks ago, it dates back to 1860,” he said.

According to Borik, it would be naive to seek a solution to a dispute with good intentions.

“We must explore all avenues,” he argued, “to seek a concerted solution between Chile and Argentina and to deal with this peacefully,” but – he stressed – “respect for regional sovereignty.”

The president’s statement follows a statement from Daniela Dresdner, the president’s representative in the BiobĂo region, who called for talks in the wake of Friday’s attack on 15 homes.

“We believe this is the solution. It will not divert us from filing complaints in cases we deem necessary,” the official added.

The official stressed that the state should provide security but also social investment, while this Sunday the administration examined possible measures to remedy the situation.

The first official reaction after the attack was to reconsider the current situation of the victims, “in order to provide them with a quick solution to their needs,” the home secretary said in a statement.
