Does the far right enter the parliament again Kasidiaris?

In the summer of 2019, Golden Dawn was excluded from parliament and dissolved. disabled. However, Chrysaugitism was not eradicated. This is shown by all the recent surveys, which, among other things, also record an element that we cannot blind, pretending that we do not see it.

The party of Ilias Kasidiaris, who is sentenced in the first degree to 13 years in prison, the “National-Greek Party” showed in the polls a performance of 2.3%-2.5% among valid votes. The risk that he will snatch a cut from the undecided pool of 10% and eventually enter the House of Representatives is real.

After all, trying to narrow down the undecided based on the trends those respondents show about which party they would vote for would raise those poll results even slightly and bring them closer to 3%. It is very important that similar offers have been consistently presented in the results of opinion polls throughout the past months. This shows that there is indeed a hard core and that there is a lack of marginal potential forces to achieve the goal.

After all, we cannot forget that in July 2019 Golden Dawn collected 2.93% and all elements of its criminal activity and Nazi character were revealed. Fragments of this registered force seem to be there, to step in and hope for a resurgence with a new name, a new leader. Incidents of far-right-related violence are consistently high.

We refer to violence against immigrants, members of the LGBTI community, etc. Far-right attacks against students in Stavropoli, Thessaloniki, and clashes between PAOK fans are very typical of an action superficially related to public debate, while they indicate that the activity of the nuclei is weaker than that of those we met a few years ago.

Ilias Kasidiaris, who is convicted of running a criminal organization, recently announced through his personal Twitter account, as well as on his party’s website, the presentation of his book “The Doctrine of the Seven Seas”. In fact, in his call for the book’s launch, he announced that “senior officers of the armed forces” as well as “lawyers in international law cases” would present the work and talk about major political developments, in addition to, of course, “the writer” while he is in prison.

After the reactions caused by the news, the presentation of the book, which was scheduled a few weeks ago, was postponed. The problem, however, is that while bans on kassidiaris from far-right propaganda across Domokos prisons had previously been announced, the measure appears to have thinned out. Otherwise, he would not have been able to announce an action in which the forces of the extreme right would participate. His “tweets” are almost daily.

At the same time in Europe, there is a marked rise of far-right forces in a number of countries, such as Italy and Sweden. At the same time, smaller or larger departments want to show anti-regime behavior by feeling outside, and spreading hatred towards the political system, democracy, and the work of institutions. All this would be good not to forget. Even if there is no current of dynamic strengthening of the extreme right in our country, the return of the Golden Dawn propagandists would be a bad message both politically and symbolically and would probably lead to strange swings in the perspective of developments.

Any entry into parliament for this particular formation, unfortunately, is something that, at least according to opinion polls, cannot be ruled out. Let’s not hide from each other…
