The archery competition created in the video game Fortnite has been added to the inaugural series of the e-Olympics series, staged as part of the Olympic Games.
The match will take place on a virtual island created in an online game on behalf of the International Shooting Federation.
It will feature 12 players selected from the ‘Fortnite Champion Series’, an online knockout tournament featuring some of the game’s best players around the world.
The e-Olympics series will be held in Singapore from June 22-25.
It will be organized by the International Olympic Committee, which organizes the modern Olympic Games and the Youth Olympic Games.
Players in shooting competition will be tested on their aiming accuracy, just like shooters in real competitions.
Electronic sports that will be included in the Olympics
Archery, baseball, chess, cycling, motorsports, dance sports, sailing, taekwondo and tennis are the other esports, while games like Gran Turismo 7 and Just Dance will be used.
Fortnite, the battle royale game that became a global sensation after its launch in 2017, has more than 400 million players worldwide.
