Ericos Andreou, father of Eric Andreou Jr., has been hospitalized since August in an Athens hospital with serious health issues.

He was born in Athens on December 15, 1938, but grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa. There, he studied art history and English literature at an English-speaking university and continued his studies in screenwriting and directing at the Grand Academy of Cinema in Rome. Upon his return to Greece, he began working as an assistant director in international productions. From 1977 onwards, he turned to directing several successful series.
