Kastoria: Police officer arrested for domestic violence – handcuffs his estranged wife too

A 53-year-old police officer was arrested for domestic violence following a complaint filed by his 50-year-old estranged wife in Kastoria on Monday evening, August 26.

According to ERT, Kastoria’s police department proceeded to arrest a 53-year-old police officer for domestic violence after his estranged wife complained of insults and threats.

A case was registered against the arrested person and his wife was also arrested

The policeman was arrested with an autobus procedure and is expected to be taken to the prosecutor’s office in Kastoria.

Finally, it is noteworthy that his wife was also arrested and the arrested person filed a complaint for defamation and false accusation.

This is the second incident of domestic violence in Kastoria in a single day.

The fireman beats his wife – he’s done it before

A serious incident of domestic violence occurred in the village of Western Lesvos, where a 40-year-old firefighter severely assaulted his wife in the face in a car in Skala Polichnito.

After the incident, the girl first went to Maithilini Hospital where doctors examined her and then went to her father’s house.

The man in question, a father of a young child, had previously been involved in similar incidents with the police and his service, twice with his current wife (her third wife) and once with his first wife, according to ERT.

The 40-year-old, who is wanted by police, is due to testify on August 9 pending a decision by the fire department’s disciplinary committee.

Along the same lines, there is a recorded incident of violence against his first degree relatives and he is addicted to alcohol.
