The KKE issued a more scathing statement against the SYRIZA-Progressive coalition, responding to Alexis Tsipras’ statements about the arguments the KKE used against his government.

In his interview with Alexis Tsipras, ANT1 and Nikos Hatzinikolaou, referring to the KKE and Dimitris Koutsoubas, who says that the Syriza government is “the worst that has ever gone through the country”, Syriza’s president said:

“We must learn from the history of the movement and the people’s struggles and the wrong choices of the left. “What Plaistras, what Papagos” is the wrong tax the country paid by consolidating a regime”.

Also, Dimitris Koutsoubas “should read a little more about the rich history of the KKE. We know our differences, but there is respect. It has to be said that there is no such thing as Plaistras and Papakos. Something popular cannot be compared to a new democracy.

The KKE’s response

Responding to Alexis Tsipras, KKE notes:

“Mr. Tsipras must be in a very big panic to argue against the KKE as an internet troll, distorting the KKE’s position that every government is worse than the previous one, understood and accepted by a large part of the Greek people. . SYRIZA adopted the memorandums of ND and PASOK, voting for a third memorandum with their support. , except paving the way for the next worst ND government, he supported his bills!” Al’s interview “Mentions the KKE. Tsipras to ANT1 and his references to the KKE”.

As for the slogan “What Plaistras, what Papagos”, we remind him that it is historically justified. The government of Plastra executed, among others, Nikos Pelogiannis and his companions on the orders of the palace and the Americans. A harsh post-civilian regime of executions, exiles and imprisonments was provided by the right-wing and centrist governments of the time. All this is known to those who study the history of the labor-people movement. Apparently, Mr. Tsipras has as much to do with history as he does with the labor-people movement.”
