For the record, the original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was released in 2004 exclusively for the PlayStation 2. Set in 1964 during the Cold War, the game follows an agent codenamed Naked Snake as he tries to save a Russian scientist, sabotage a nuclear weapon, and assassinate his former mentor. The game got the best reviews for its story, gameplay, graphics, and sound. It has sold over four million copies worldwide as of March 2010 and is considered one of the greatest video games of all time.
