Mexico: A baby born with a rare 5 cm hairy tail

What the doctors found

However, when they pricked the tail with a needle, the baby cried, prompting further tests on its rare tip. So the x-rays revealed no evidence of abnormalities or bony structures within the tail, suggesting that it was a “true tail”, a benign process consisting of only tissue and fat, which is very rare, with only 40 cases reported.

The doctors decided to let the little boy grow a little and after two months they discovered that his tail had grown by 0.8 cm. So they put her into surgery and removed her tip with complete success, with skin being used from behind to close the wound. Now, the little girl is completely healthy, because this particular adventure has not affected any of her organs or functions.
