Social Tourism: Orders for 300,000 DYPA Checks From Tomorrow – Newsbomb – News

Tomorrow, Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at 10:00 am, electronic applications will be submitted to beneficiaries and service providers for their participation in the Social Tourism Program for Employees – Unemployed for the period 2023-2024 of the Public Employment Service (DYPA) begins.

For the first time, the program will start one month earlier, on July 1, 2023 instead of August 1, and will concern 300,000 checks with a total budget of €35,000,000.

The check with which the sharing process is made is a unique number for each beneficiary and for each beneficiary separately. Beneficiaries – Beneficiaries may spend up to 6 nights in a tourist accommodation of their choice from DYPA’s “Register of Providers”, after direct consultation with the Provider, with little private participation. Especially for accommodations in Leros, Lesvos, Chios, Kos and in the province of Evros up to 10 nights can be booked without private sharing, while for accommodations in the municipalities of Istiaea-Edipsos and Mantoudi-Limni-Ag. Annas of N. Evia and Samos can be held for up to 12 nights absolutely free of charge.

Support prices remained up 20% for the peak month in August, as they had been for the past year. In addition, for the first time it is increased by 20% during the periods of Christmas (from 15.12.2023 to 14.01.2024) and Easter (from 26.04.2024 to 12.05.2024). The increase is valid all year round for stays in North Evia and Samos.

In addition to accommodation in tourist accommodation, ferry tickets are also subsidized. The participation rate for the general category of beneficiaries is 25% and for many children it is 20%. For people with disabilities, ferry tickets are free.

beneficiaries of social tourism

For the first time, in this year’s program, the categories of beneficiaries are expanded, while the vulnerable groups are strengthened, as points are provided for people with disabilities and single parents. The beneficiaries are:

  • Employees who have a dependent employment relationship under private law at the end of the application deadline or
  • Insured with eEFKA in his occupational category with contributions to the Unemployment Branch of DYPA at any time between 01.01.2022 and the day before the deadline for filing OR
  • Unemployed with a period of continuous unemployment of at least three months at the application deadline.

The income of the beneficiaries of all categories must not exceed 30 thousand eurosexcept for the long-term unemployed, who must have an income of up to €16,000, up to €24,000 if married, plus €3,000 for each child, or if single parents up to €27,000, plus €3,000 Each child has a first.

How do I apply to social tourism?

Selection of beneficiaries is based on recording specific criteria (disabled, single parent, number of children, income) in an objective and transparent manner through the Integrated Information System (IPS) of the Department of Political and Religious Affairs.

It is noted that the employees and the unemployed who receive financial benefits in exchange for their participation in the social tourism program of any other organization for the same period cannot participate in the program.

Supporting documents related to conditions of participation or registration of ex-officio beneficiaries are requested. In cases where supporting documents are required due to the impossibility of an automatic search, they are attached to the applications.

Examples

Example 1

A family with two children chooses 6 nights in a 3-star hotel with breakfast in August:

  • DYPA support: €806.40 (couple x €67.20 / day x 6 nights)

Example 2

The couple chose 12 nights in a 4-star hotel with breakfast in Samos in September:

For coastal ferries, the cost is broken down as follows:

  • Total DYPA support: €1,147.80
  • Total private participation: €55.5

Application of service providers in the social tourism program

Program Providers are Tourist Accommodation and Ferry Companies, as identified in the Public Call.
