Stevie Nicks Early life & Education

Stevie Nicks was born on may 26, 1948 in Phoenix, Arizona. Her father, Jess Nicks, held the position of president at Greyhound, and as a consequence the family relocated quite frequently around the United States.

Stevie used to mispronounce her name, so her friends and family stuck with the idea of calling her “Stevie.” When she was a young girl, her grandfather showed her how to sing duets with him, which is how she started her singing career.

Nicks began writing her own songs when she was 16 years old after getting a guitar from her grandmother as a gift.

Nicks had a musical partnership with Lindsey Buckingham, who would go on to become her love partner and the lead singer of her band, Fritz.

Anderson is the widower of that friend. Nick states that they got married only because “it was the only way that [they] could feel like [they] were doing anything”, and divorce after 3 months of marriage. Nick states they were divorced after 3 months of marriage.

Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, Don Henley, J.A. Souther, Jimmy Iovine and Joe Walsh have been suggested as potential partners for Nicks.

She is a pastor of the United Church of Universal Life, and served as an officiant at John McCauley and Vanessa Carlton’s wedding in 2017. Both well-known musicians in their own right.
