Sunday fire danger: six “orange” zones – recommendations for citizens

A very high fire risk (Danger Category 4) is forecast for tomorrow in Attica, Crete, parts of central Greece.

According to a fire risk forecast map published by the General Secretariat of Civil Defense of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Defense, the areas where the weather is “favorable” are the Peloponnese, the Northern Aegean, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace.

In particular, the following areas are forecast to have the highest fire risk tomorrow:

• Eastern Macedonia & Thrace Region (Samothraki Island including Evros PE, Rodopi PE, Shanti PE)

• Region of Attica

• Region of Central Greece (PE Boeotia, PE Evia)

• Peloponnese region (Corinthia region, Argolis region)

• North Aegean Region (Lesvos Region, Chios Region, Samos Region, Ikaria Region)

• Area of ​​Crete

The Civil Protection General Secretariat of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection (civilprotection.gov.gr) informs competent government agencies engaged in official service, as well as regions and municipalities of the above regions.   3. In case of fire, call 199 to the fire department immediately.
