The new DJI Mavic 3 Pro is the first drone with a triple camera system – DJI

a few days agoη DJI announce Mavic 3 Pro, an upgraded and improved version of the Mavic 3, is the first drone from DJI to feature a triple camera system.

The Hasselblad-badged main camera is based on the company’s same huge 4/3 CMOS sensor and the same 24mm focal length lens system and f/2.8-11 variable aperture found in the Mavic 3. The camera is capable of shooting ProRes 5.1k video (5120 x 2700 pixels) up to 50fps plus DCI 4K (4096 x 2160p) and standard 4K video (3840 x 2160p) at up to 120fps in 10-bit D-Log.

The main sensor offers a dynamic range of 12.8 stops and Hasselblad’s color range which Hasselblad calls Natural Color Solution (HNCS) and according to the famous company delivers accurate and reliable color in every shot and “out of the box”. The new DJI Mavic 3 Pro also features a new telephoto camera based on a 48MP 1/1.3 sensor and a 70mm f/2.8 focal length lens system that offers 3x mid-range zoom with the ability to shoot 4K video up to 60fps support and 10-bit D-Log. This camera can also take 12MP photos using pixel binning technology.

The third telephoto camera is based on a 12-megapixel 1/2-inch sensor that provides 7x zoom with a focal length of 166 mm and an aperture of f / 3.4, which can shoot 4K video at up to 60 frames per second. Thanks to this sensor, the user can shoot 10-bit video in Apple ProRes Or H.264/H.265 8-bit format.

The triple-camera system is mounted on a mechanical axis with 3-axis stabilization for tilt, roll, and swivel, with the Mavic 3 Pro even integrating multi-directional sensors to avoid obstacles from every angle. As you’d expect – given its cost – the new DJI drone also supports DJI’s latest O3+ data transmission technology, which supports 1080/60p live feeds from up to 15km away. As with the “simple” Mavic 3, DJI’s new drone can stay in the air for up to 43-46 minutes. Of course, it is equipped with all the smart technologies and features of DJI, among them Waypoint Flight (where you pre-set the flight path), Cruise Control (the drone flies in any direction without user intervention), Advanced Return to Home (the drone will return to your place with Obstacle avoidance enabled), FocusTrack (the main and medium-telephoto cameras track a pre-selected object within the frame), QuickShots (Dronie, Rocket, Circle, Helix) as well as MasterShots (the drone will take over and automatically edit a video).
