Going into details, the Chinese company Removes a feature that allowed users to continue hearing audio from videos when their screen was off. In fact, this is one of the paid features of the platform, which Google offers exclusively to those who pay for the YouTube Premium subscription service.
The feature is therefore removed with the latest updates just released for the Xiaomi 14 and all other devices with it HyperOSFor Xiaomi 13, 13 Pro, 12T and all other devices with Mewe 14And also for all phones with Mewe 13 And Mewe 12.
Xiaomi to explain Compliance Requirements is responsible for removing the feature. This simply means that Google for YouTube and perhaps other content distribution companies pressured the Chinese giant to make this change.
The official announcement stated the following:
Due to compliance requirements, we regret to inform you that we have removed the “Play video audio with screen off” feature in the Video Toolbox and the “Off Screen” feature in the Gaming Toolbox via over-the-air (OTA) updates.
