Ararat will be Aris’ opponent in the second qualifying round

After a heart-breaking match, Ararat edged Egnatia 4-2 on penalties (4-4 regular and extra time) and will face Aris in the second qualifying round of the Conference League.

Aris learned of its opponent in the second qualifying round of the conference tournament. Yellow will face the Aratas from Armenia, who managed to cross the Ignatia barrier.

Tolis Terzis players will initially play away on July 27, while the return leg will take place on August 3 at Kleanthis Vikelidis.

The game broke hearts and had great ups and downs, until the very end. The first match had ended in a 1-1 draw and the two teams entered the match on an equal footing. Until the end of the first half, Egnatia was leading 2-1, while in the 56th minute, Castaniera made it 2-2 to the visitors and sent the match to extra time.

The extra half hour took a crazy turn. Domina made it 3-2 to Ignatia in the 108th minute, Gane equalized in the 110th minute and Bueno scored the equalizing goal in the 113th minute for Ararat. But the Albanian team equalized the score again with 120 + 4.

In the penalty shootout, the guests were cooler and after two penalty kicks were conceded by Ignatia, Ararat advanced 4-2.
