Bad Weather Elias arrived in Attica with heavy rain and intense lightning. A message from 112 was sent out on Tuesday night to avoid unnecessary movement today as the storms continue.

Due to unfavorable forecasts in the region of Central Greece and in the municipality of Lamia, preparations were made for the early evacuation of some residents from the village of Komma, especially at night from the houses closest to Sperchio.
Schools in the municipalities of Lamia, Makrakomi, Tomokos and Stylita were closed on Tuesday and will remain closed on Wednesday as a precaution.
Longtime Palamas residents are also wary. The local community leader of Palama, Mr. Dimitris Sigartas, speaking to APE, said that if a settlement needs to be evacuated due to severe flooding, as many residents as possible should be accommodated in the highest buildings and the rest should leave. Their homes are in predetermined positions that exist in every society.

Today Wednesday (27-09-2023) local heavy rains and storms are predicted in central and southern mainland (Thessaly, Styria and Peloponnese), Sporades, Evia and western Crete. Occasional heavy rains and storms are possible in the western Cyclades, western and southern parts of Attica and the northern Aegean.
It should be noted that in the provinces of Karditsa, the eastern and southern regions of Magnesia, Eurytania, Phithiotida, Phokita, Boeotia, Sporades and North Evia have the highest rainfall.
On Thursday (28-09-2023) inland heavy rain and storms are forecast for Sporades, Magnesia, Evia (mainly north), Phithiotida and Boeotia until afternoon.

According to Mega’s meteorologist Cristina Rico, rain, showers and occasional storms are expected in Attica. Temperatures will range from 20 to 26 degrees Celsius with winds of 5-6 Beaufort.
