Italy will issue new, tougher penalties for offending drivers
The Italian government is preparing to approve tomorrow, Thursday, new and tougher penalties for those who do not respect passcode.
More specifically, as La Stampa newspaper writes, the government melon It intends to approve the compulsory removal of the license for anyone driving with a mobile phone in hand, in the opposite direction of traffic or under the influence of drugs.
At the same time, according to the Turin newspaper, anyone caught intoxicated will have their driver’s license withdrawn.
The relevant Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini, also intends to increase measures to protect those who travel by bicycle and to impose compulsory insurance, as well as signage, for electric scooters.
As La Stampa writes, finally, based on the new rules, machines will be used for electronic registration of vehicle speeds with the aim of protecting the safety of citizens, with the same standards throughout the country “and not effectively doubling the different fines.”
