Besiktas announced the contract with Santos along with the names of its partners, but did not reveal the duration of their cooperation. Besiktas currently ranks sixth in the league and outside Europe.
Santos was absent from action last September when his partnership with the Polish national team ended. In the past he sat (among others) on the national team benches of Greece and Portugal, as well as Benfica, Porto, AEK Athens, Panathinaikos and PAOK.
