MSI Claw, the first portable gaming console with Intel Core Ultra processor – MSI

After ASUS and Lenovo introduced the ROG Ally and Legion Go portable gaming consoles, it's MSI's turn to announce its own version, which has one important difference: it's the first portable gaming console with an Intel Core Ultra processor.

So instead of following the path of its competitors by customizing the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, MSI has embraced the “blue camp” and new Core Ultra (Meteor Lake) processors from Intel.

The MSI Claw gaming console is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra processor, Arc Xe-LPG graphics with up to 8 Xe cores, and advanced XeSS technology for smooth gameplay with AAA titles. The console has a specially designed cooling system called MSI Cooler Boost HyperFlow, a 53Wh battery, Thunderbolt 4 connectivity (support for DisplayPort, USB-C, and Power Delivery 3.0), Killer WiFi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. Also, the gaming console has an M.2 2230 NVMe PCIe SSD slot, a microSD slot, a 3.5mm mini-jack (microphone/headphones), 6-axis IMU vibration technology, two 2W stereo speakers, as well as a power button With a built-in fingerprint sensor with Windows Hello support (the controller also runs Windows 11). The MSI Claw weighs 675 grams, so it's heavier than competing offerings like the ASUS ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go, and Steam Deck.

The device's screen has a diagonal of 7 inches (it is an “IPS-level” display according to the company) and supports a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, a brightness of 500 nits and a wide color gamut (100% coverage of the sRGB color space).

According to the company, the autonomy of the gaming console thanks to the 6-cell 53 Wh battery is up to 2 hours under maximum load (full workload), thus allowing players to enjoy the game longer than other proposals. In terms of gaming experience, with XeSS ultra-sampling technology for Intel ARC graphics, the MSI Claw portable gaming console delivers smooth 1080p gameplay with medium settings in AAA titles.
