CEO of Riot Games, Nicholas Laurent In a new interview with Chinese media, Billibilli, she revealed that Arcane Season 2 will be delayed and not released until 2023. Therefore, the continuation of Vi and Jinx’s story is expected from 2024 onwards.
But why this delay? Laurent explained that this development is due to two factors, one of which is to maintain quality and that they do not want to rush, as he says:
“So I just watched the third episode of Season 2 before I fly to China. We’re making progress on it. It’s not ready yet, and there are two reasons for that. First, we want quality. We just don’t want to rush, and that takes time. And that’s a good reason.”
The second factor is that they were not ready for the second season. As he characteristically said: The bad reason is that we honestly didn’t know if Season 1 was going to be a hit or not. So we didn’t even start Season 2… If I had known, we would have started Season 2 early. But we didn’t know, so we waited a bit, So, now we’re paying the price in a way“.
As for what we know about season two? No more than they will return Hailee Steinfeld, Ella Purnell And Katie Long in the roles of Vi, Jinx, and Caitlyn, respectively.
So Arcane Season 2 is now expected to be on Netflix sometime in 2024.
