However, in a market that recently seems to have become more expensive in every sector and in all categories, there are – and we present them to you – three proposals that “remain” at the threshold of 15 thousand euros and are not related to micromobility.
It is one of the most frequently asked questions, since the car market has “ran away” when it comes to the prices of new models, so we also “answer” the three cheapest cars on the market. Cars that clearly belong to the A category and which tend to “fall off the map” but even as a “swan song” have three noteworthy statuses to offer us.
One could say that we are talking about new cars at a used price, but in reality, the chaotic situation in the used market does not allow “comparisons” because due to tax distortions and other characteristics, it is inconvenient to look at what one can buy second or third hand ( Or fourth…) with the same financial “ceiling”.
1. Fiat Panda Hybrid – starting from 14.330 euro (comfort)
To buy the Panda, which is always a force to be reckoned with in its class and on the market in general, there is currently a promotion from Fiat – a discount of 200 euros. In this way, the “introductory” cost of owning the most capable small car in its latest hybrid version is just 14,330 euros.
Its choice is not limited only to its ease of handling and the abundance of data related to its overall size and passenger and luggage spaces. There are also “rewards” such as exemption from the obligation to pay tolls, which relieves the panda owner of additional financial obligation.
This, combined with the low average consumption that the little Fiat shows, makes it a choice that is always relevant and never outdated. The engine power of 70 horsepower is enough and more than that to serve any “task” if the driver is on his mind, with trips not outside the “operating range” of the small Italian model.
2. Kia Picanto – from 14.390 euro (1.0 LX Inmotions 4S)
The Picanto historically began in the “shadow” of Hyundai’s more popular “sibling” model, the i10. But as has become clear in recent years, it is marketed as sleeker and undoubtedly more attractive than the comparable compact model. At the moment, its option is combined with a discount from the Greek dealer of around 500 euros, which helps determine the price of the basic version we have here.
Traditionally, Kia always tends to offer something extra, so in addition to the discount we mentioned, the Picanto also comes with a 5-year free maintenance plan. In any case, one of the factors that contributed to the increased popularity of the model was the reliability of the 67 hp engine.
As another feature, you have to keep the fact that the company is quite sure that it “endows” the Picanto – like the rest of the models in its range – with a 7-year warranty. Beyond that, the things worth keeping are the generally low cost of use, with the engine’s limited fuel requirements in all conditions, but also the small Korean model’s “super armor” in terms of comfort and safety equipment.
3. Mitsubishi Spacestar – from €15,010 (entrance)
The basic version of the renewed Space Star is very distinctively called “Entry”, and here Mitsubishi is offering an economical purchase offer for those who want to acquire a new car. Like the other two cars, the Space Star is perfect as a “first” car for someone who wants to start discovering the magic of four-wheeled cars.
The Space Star can be said to have elements of its character from the Panda, as it has almost always been a very affordable offering in the Mitsubishi range. In its current updated version, the small model is equipped with a 1,200 hp naturally aspirated engine that generates 71 hp and provides enough power for the driver’s needs.
At the same time, it keeps its fuel requirements low, thus becoming a proposition that cannot leave “unaffected” those who have a limited cost of acquisition and use, at the top of their priority list. Space Star deserves to be viewed “warmly” only because the Mitsubishi name is among the most important of the Japanese “school”.
