Sony announced the addition of two new full-frame cameras with interchangeable lenses to its flagship A7C series, which combine compact size and high portability.

First, the Alpha 7C II packs a 33-megapixel full-frame image sensor, advanced photo and video functions and performance into a compact and lightweight body (about 12cm wide x 7cm high x 6cm deep and weighs about 513g). . This is the second generation of the α7C series, which is known for combining performance and features in a compact size, making it ideal for a wide range of shooting scenarios such as travel and street photography.

Sony’s second offering is the Alpha 7C R, a new full-frame compact camera with interchangeable lenses. It features the high resolution and rich gradation performance of a 61MP full-size image sensor, the same sensor used in the Alpha 7R V, housed in a compact and lightweight body weighing 513g. In addition to everyday photography, according to Sony, it easily captures high-quality images in a wide range of situations, such as portraits, wildlife and landscapes, achieving a combination of super-resolution image capture with flexibility and light weight.

Among the common features, both models are equipped with the same AI processing unit and BIONZ While in-body 5-axis image stabilization provides a seven-step shooting feature when taking photos. In terms of video performance, both models support 4:2:2 10-bit high-quality video recording up to 4K60p, with support for Sony’s signature S-Cinetone color technology for a rich cinematic effect. Additionally, they have in-body active mode image stabilization, AI auto framing, digital audio interface support and other features that enhance high-quality video capture.

Standard ISO sensitivity ranges from 100 to 32,000 for both still images and video (extended ISO 50 to 102,400 for still images). Combined with 5-axis optical image stabilization with 7.0 stops, even slight blurring at the single-pixel level is detected and corrected. As for the launch of the two models, it is scheduled to take place in October, at a price of 2,400 euros for the Alpha 7C II (for the body) and 3,700 euros for the Alpha 7C R.
