The country’s major retail chains gained a voice when the creation of the Hellenic Supermarket Association was announced.

Gradually, since 2019 with the outbreak of the epidemic, communication and interaction with the cooperating ministries have intensified, whether on issues of defending healthy competition, or on other organizational, labor and environmental issues.

At the same time, the role of the sector has radically changed and upgraded, as supermarkets have been called upon to support the smooth operation of the supply chain during the period of restrictive measures in place during the pandemic, but also later due to geopolitical turbulence and inflationary pressures, and successfully deal with any challenges.

Signage changed in the supermarket – how will we shop?

All procedures required to start and organize its effective work have been completed.

In particular, changes to product labels in supermarkets are effective from Monday, May 15th.

Changes in product labels stipulated in the relevant regulations of the Ministry of Development come into effect with the aim of informing consumers promptly and easily and not misleading them about the price or quantity of the product they are buying.

c) €20,000 per physical or online store for companies with a total turnover of more than €10,000,000 to €50,000,000 and

d) 30,000 euros per physical or online store for companies with a total turnover of more than 50,000,000 euros
