AADE: A New Model for Tax Administration

The Independent Authority for Public Revenue is developing the organizational structure of the regional tax administration services with the aim of providing the best service to taxpayers.

Specifically, by the decisions of the AADE Governor, Giorgos Pitsilis, new services were established in Athens and Thessaloniki respectively.

• the Two capital tax centers as of 01/29/2024 take over all tax responsibilities on property ownership, inheritance, donations, parental benefits, winnings from gambling and real estate transfers, which currently has a DOU of Attica and Thessaloniki.

• the Two Tax Procedures and Service Centers as of 01/04/2024 take over the responsibilities of Income Tax, Value Added Tax, Special Taxes and Registration, which are transferred from the DOU of the Governorates of Attica and Thessaloniki.

this restructuring, Together with the accreditation and collection centers in Attica and Thessaloniki, which were also opened, allowing the current DOU to evolve into service services for those citizens who do not have access to digital media, but also to guide taxpayers in properly fulfilling their obligations. Thus, within the year 2024, the landscape of services for citizens and workers will change, with enhanced and enriched services with experienced and specialized staff, modern infrastructure and safe buildings, with a minimum energy footprint.

We expect that during 2024 citizens will reap the benefits of our regulatory changes, in the new services in Athens and Thessaloniki, where almost 50% of TINs operate, but also in the new DOU.».
