during the THQ Nordic Digital Showcase 2023, a well-known company has released the first trailer – very atmospheric – for the new game with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. by name TMNT: The Last Ronin (The Game)The exact project was announced earlier, but we now have the first footage, though it doesn’t reveal much.
The first video retains a very cool style, as it is in black and white and shows, among other things, four candles lit and some extinguished, except for one. That turtle is the only survivor after a big battle and now begins a new adventure of revenge.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin is going to be a AAA dark game, with Doug Rosen (the creator) likening it to a third-person action game like Sony’s God of War. However, the main protagonist will be one (we don’t know who yet), though there will be some flashbacks with all the turtles. With the information we’ve learned now, The Last Ronin will have an original story and will take place in a future where only one of the turtles survived.
The description from THQ Nordic states:
Who is the last ronin? In the battle-torn New York of the future, the surviving Turtle Monkish embarks on a seemingly desperate quest to seek justice for the family he lost. From the minds of the creators of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and based on the best-selling comic by the Eastman, Waltz, Bishop, Delgado, and Escorza Brothers: this is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin video game.
As for the comics, the main character was a black Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle who can use nunchaku, sai, bo staff and dual katana. In the end, it is revealed that he is the well-known Michelangelo. The comic was published by IDW for only five issues. In fact, the story was written by Kevin Eastman, who was inspired by Peter Laird in the late 1980s.
TMNT: The Last Ronin (The Game) is currently in development and will be released in the future for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S and PC.
