Morocco was going to put Romain Sayes and Najaf Ajrad in central defense in the 2022 World Cup semi-final against France, but neither of them arrived until the 20th minute.

Karim Rekaraghi handed the starting shirt to three of his four main defenders Morocco who were dealing with injury problems, but only one took the 20th minute of the semi-final World Cup 2022 with her opponent France.

Najaf Ajrad was announced as the starter but failed to warm up, resulting in Ashraf Dare taking his place. Captain Roman Sayes started the match, but just before the 20-minute mark sat on the pitch to ask for a substitution, to be replaced by Selim Amla.

Only Nosair Mazraoui was competitive in the match as it turned out, as the Bayern Munich left-back continued after 20 minutes.
