The fight that broke out on Monday at a high school in the American state of North Carolina turned into a tragedy when a 15-year-old boy fell dead as a result of the brutal stab wounds he received from his 14-year-old classmate. The 14-year-old who stabbed the other two students has been arrested and charged with manslaughter and is being held in a correctional facility.
A bystander filmed the altercation, and the fatal stabbing was captured on video, which was later posted on social media. The video shows the fight starting when a young man wearing a black shirt punches another student wearing a red shirt.
“My son was in self-defense,” says the mother of the 14-year-old.
In fact, the mother of the alleged perpetrator claimed that her son was in self-defense, adding that she did not believe he went to school with the knife but rather took it from someone else inside the school.
“We are talking about a tragedy. I feel bad for the other family but on the other hand I also feel bad for my son because he was fighting to save himself. It was not a fair fight,” he told local media.
