Apple: The big change to iPhones – how you’ll send photos and videos

The way AirDrop works has changed apple With the change affecting millions of iPhone users.

For those who don’t know, AirDrop is a useful feature that lets you share and receive photos, documents, and more with other iPhones and iPads at breakneck speed, using your Bluetooth.

In the past, you could leave AirDrop set to “Everyone,” allowing it to download files from anyone whose Bluetooth device “picked up.” However, Apple has changed this feature.

The change was first rolled out in China a while ago, but it’s now available to everyone who has iOS 16.2 installed.

There’s now a grace period when sending things via AirDrop to those who aren’t in your contacts, where the To Everyone option will remain active for ten minutes.

The reason for changing the setting is to avoid downloading suspicious messages from strangers via AirDrops. Of course you can just turn off the “For Everyone” option. However, if you don’t, you should be aware that if you have iOS 16.2, the option will only stay on for ten minutes.
