Orban and Erdogan decided to sign a central agreement to strengthen multi-level relations between the two countries, while their ministers signed a total of 16 separate agreements.

The Hungarian Prime Minister and the Turkish President chaired the Sixth Inter-Ministerial Supreme Council, and they aim for bilateral transactions to reach 6 billion euros, compared to 4 billion euros today.

“Turkish investments in Hungary are increasing in number and value from year to year, and we have expanded this cooperation to other areas as well. We have signed agreements for the development of railways and the military industry,” Viktor Orban said.

At Erdogan’s talks in Budapest, all open issues were discussed, from war conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East to the issue of Sweden’s accession to NATO, about which no statements were made, at least publicly.

“Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited Budapest for the second time this year. The previous meeting was on August 20, when he and Prime Minister Viktor Orbán prepared the Supreme Council for Strategic Cooperation,” Euronews correspondent Rita Cunha reported from Budapest.
