Hatzidakis: There have been 3,000 requests for “My Home” so far

Labor Minister Kostis Hatzidakis said today that a total of 3,000 applications have been submitted to banks as part of the “Bayti” program to grant low-interest housing loans to young people.

Speaking to Sky broadcaster, Mr Hatzidakis said that 100 applications had been pre-approved, while stressing that if there was significant interest in the programme, an additional €500m would be available.

It is noteworthy that applications for the “Spiti mou” program with low-interest loans for young people to acquire a house began on Monday.

Program Advantages

The program is “run” by the DYPA (formerly OAED) website, at dypa.gov.gr, where young people between the ages of 25 and 39 can get information and apply for cheap or even interest-free home loans for those with a lot children.

The loan amount is up to €150,000 and can finance the purchase of a property worth up to €200,000.

The term can be up to 30 years and the interest rate will be subsidized at 75%. No guarantor is required for the loan.

The minimum income is set at 10,000 euros, while the upper limit is set for granting heating allowance, ie for this year 16,000 euros for single people, 24,000 euros for married people, which has increased by 3,000 euros for each child.

In addition, for single-parent families, the maximum is €27,000, with an increase of €3,000 for each child after the first.
