IMITHEA SA, owner of ERRIKOS DYNAN Hospital, has reached a preliminary agreement with Farallon, to acquire the main body of the EUROMEDICA Group, after the separation of the diagnostic centres. The acquisition concerns 6 general clinics and maternity clinics in Athens, Thessaloniki, Rhodes and Kozani, 1 rehabilitation center in Thessaloniki, holdings in other rehabilitation centres, procurement, IT and real estate exploitation companies.

An important distinction for Ericus Dunant.

In the largest health groups

The aim of the acquisition is to create one of the largest health groups in Greece that will provide secondary care services through a network of hospitals and clinics with a wide geographical coverage of the Greek territory.

This new group will employ more than 2,500 workers, have more than 1,380 secondary care beds across Greece, have the capacity to treat more than 120,000 cases per year and serve more than 750,000 outpatient cases in its network of clinics.

It is noteworthy that the acquisition process is ongoing and its completion is subject to the approval of the competent competition authority and obtaining the approvals stipulated by law.

Second attempt

It is reported that in mid-2022, the two companies had agreed to merge, through Hemethea’s acquisition of the Euromedica Group. The deal that didn’t work out.

Errikos Dunan was acquired in 2014 by the SPV and subsidiary of Piraeus Imithea Bank for €115 million.
