Menotti was the coach who led Argentina to victory in the 1978 World Cup, an achievement that was also the most important of his career. He won the league and cup with Barcelona, while also spending time during his coaching career on the benches of Penarol, Boca Juniors, Atletico Madrid, River Plate, Mexico National Team, Independiente, Sampdoria, Rosario Central and Ticos.
As a footballer, Menotti played for Rosario Central, Racing, Boca Juniors, New York Generals, Santos and Juventude. He is one of the greatest figures of his time and will forever have a special place in the hearts of Argentines.
In recent years, since 2019, he has taken on an advisory role in the Argentine national team, where he was alongside Lionel Scaloni and witnessed all the last great moments of the “Albiceleste”.
