Road tax extension announced for 2024 upon payment – Dnews

The 2024 road tax payment is expected to be extended shortly before the end of the year by financial staff.

Finance Minister Harris Theocharis left the door open for an extension of toll fees as the deadline expires on December 31.

“I will refer you to an order that will likely be introduced today and voted on Wednesday. “Our goal is not to have continuing extensions and to go to a system that is permanent anyway, such that there is no need for extensions,” Harris Theoharis initially said, but hastened to add: However, as we are preparing all these arrangements a few days before the deadline expires, perhaps we will have an extension in this process for a few days.”

According to information, the government is considering extending it for two weeks.

Vehicle owners can pay toll fees through the AADE myCar platform in three ways.

First they print the notice and then they can:

  • To visit the automated transaction machine and scan the Quick Response (QR) code for its notifications, by following the instructions that appear on the screen.
  • Enter their bank application (e-banking) and pay using the 23-digit RF code shown in the notification.
  • To visit a bank or ELTA branch and pay at the cash register by showing the notice.
  • To print a toll payment receipt, you need the car owner’s taxi codes.

How will fees be issued?

Access the MyCar app using taxi codes.

Select “Vehicle Tolls” and then “Vehicle Tolls Notifications” field.

You verify that the VAT number and year are correct (in this case 2023), then enter the vehicle registration number.

To print it, click on the “Toll Notice” option.

If you do not have Taxisnet codes, you will need to enter all the necessary information by entering the AADE application. There you enter the VAT number, vehicle registration number and year, then press “Print”.

When you don’t have to pay road tax

When the vehicle is digitally immobilized in the Digital Operating Unit (DOU) before the beginning of the year, i.e. before 1/1/2023.

Proof of payment of road tax is an essential document in your car, as is car insurance.

The penalty for late payment is:

• A fine equivalent to the fee if the vehicle is a two- or three-wheeler IX or a passenger car

• A fine equivalent to 50% of the fees if the vehicle has a DX passenger

• No fine if the road tax is less than 30 euros.
