Just as everyone expected, this year’s Super Bowl takes place between the Los Angeles Rams and Team Cincinnati Bengals.
I know, it’s been three weeks and it still isn’t right! Tom Brady? retired و. Ben Roethlisberger? Along the same lines. Back to Back MVP Winner Aaron Rodgers? At home and most likely planning to escape from the Green Bay Packers. New England Patriots? Done in one. Cowboys in Dallas? Oh man, don’t even ask.
Now, the rams always thought they belonged here. They’ve been in winning position now for the past two seasons, and are now one win away from achieving that, particularly by deciding to move on from Jared Goff in the middle and replace him with Matthew Stafford of the Detroit Lions.
(We also welcome all long-suffering Lions fans who root for the Rams for just this reason. We understand, sometimes you have to score whatever wins you can get.)
In the NFC Championship match, the Rams defeated the San Francisco 49ers, a well-rounded team that decided to hold on to Jimmy Garoppolo’s questionable quarterback. This, not unexpectedly, ended up being the difference in the game. Sometimes in sports, the movements you make are pretty much the same.
Bengals? No one except them expected Bengal to get this far. They haven’t won a playoff since 1991. Now they’ve won a treble in a row and they’re somehow in Energy. Talk about a quarterback who changes a team: Joe Burrow has transformed the Bengals from the frustrating “Bungles” of the past to the most unexpected underdog story of the year.
If anyone doubts their chances of winning the championship, AFC Championship Match ResultsHe should have put them right. With their return to beat the Kansas City Chiefs, who were aiming to appear in their third consecutive Super Bowl, the Bengals asserted that, on paper, at least, this game should have been a neglect.
