Suppliers were forced to reduce prices

Suppliers were forced to reduce prices

Through his TikTok post, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis refers to the new electricity tariffs that took effect on January 1.

According to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the establishment of the 3+1 electricity tariff (green, orange, blue and yellow) helped competition in the electricity market to function better. The Prime Minister says there is now better transparency in comparing prices and suppliers have been forced to offer lower prices to attract more customers.

According to Kyriakos Mitsotakis, this means in practice that the average price for January is about 13.5 cents per kilowatt-hour, while in December it was 14.5 cents per kilowatt-hour with subsidies. At the same time, he was quick to remind us of the government's support for our truly vulnerable citizens and those who choose electricity to keep themselves warm. This will be done through emergency aid covering the months from January to February and March.

Furthermore, Mr. Mitsotakis recommends that citizens go to the RAE website where they can see all the information about the new tariffs.
