Olympiacos earned €704,000 by entering the Euroleague qualifiers and is now aiming for the trophy, which will give them another €1 million.
Olympiacos’ run in the Euroleague regular season was magical. Piraeus became the first Greek team to win the first place in the seven years that the tournament was held in a tournament format and now they aim to qualify for the Final Four (19-21/5) in order to get the trophy and close the season in perfect fashion their year.
By entering the eight, as first in the regular season, the red and whites have taken the amount of €703,759 from the Sports Pool (corresponds to 21% of the total revenue, the remaining 79% corresponds to the market pool) and are now claiming the amount they are expected to collect The team that wins the title on May 21st could reach €1,759,398.
In the event that Olympiacos is eliminated in the playoffs, it will occupy the fifth place in the final standings of the season. On the other hand, Panathinaikos will not receive a share of the Sports Pool, as teams that finish in positions 15-18 are not entitled to receive bonuses for their progress and results. Finally, there is no winning bonus like in previous years.
