The Conference League Final left a bitter taste in Fiorentina not only for losing the trophy but also for the behavior of the West Ham fans, as Viola chairman Rocco Comizo attacked them with harsh words.
Fiorentina have featured in two finals this season but failed to smile at anyone, first losing 2-1 to Inter Milan in the Coppa Italia and then by the same score against West Ham in the Conference League.
But the second defeat was more bitter on the violin. After the match against the London team in Prague, they had strong complaints about the behavior of their opponents, as Luka Jović took a blow to the nose and was forced to leave at the start of the match. The second half and Cristiano Biraghi bleeding on his head from plastic bottles thrown by the opposing team’s fans.
Rocco Comizo didn’t like all this at all, as the Fiorentina president angrily declared to the Italian media: “I expected us to win, but it didn’t happen like that. There were moments on the field when the referee had to make the difference.
