Will The Witcher 4 continue Geralt’s story? – CD Projekt Answers

A few hours ago a statement from her CD project It came to upset fans of the series the magician, who began to hope that the next The Witcher game would continue Geralt’s adventures. However, as the Polish studio was quick to point out, we were ultimately dealing with…misunderstanding.

Going into details, CD Projekt recently announced that now that development on Cyberpunk 2077 and its expansions has concluded, all the lights will be turned on Project Polaris, the upcoming Witcher game. Speaking to the Italian website Lega Nerd, the director of the new game, Sebastian Kalimba, said that the team will try to “expand the boundaries” of the genre and “make something that surpasses The Witcher 3” in terms of story and gameplay intensity.

But in the same interview, he also made a statement that angered the fans, saying:

I think this game will be a great starting point for many players, not forgetting long-time fans who want to see Geralt’s adventures continue.

This has led many to hope that Geralt will return in Chapter 4, if not as a hero, at least as an in-game character. But this is not what Kalimba meant, as there appears to be an error in the Italian translation. CD Projket was quick to clear things up, practically confirming what we already knew, which was that the new saga would indeed be new, without the beloved white-haired monster hunter.

Clarification from CD Projekt regarding The Witcher 4:

This interview was first conducted in English and then translated into Italian, so some errors may have occurred. In the above statement, Sebastian Kalimba said that the new saga will appeal to both new players who have not yet had the opportunity to experience the previous chapters, as well as die-hard fans of Geralt’s adventures, as the Witcher saga is usually referred to.
