“I was saddened to learn of the death of my beloved Giannis Floriniotis. Giannis was a wonderful mentor to me and my sister. He was a brilliant artist, full of passion for his work, tireless, pioneering, ahead of his time, kind-hearted and a kind person.

“I remember around the year 78 -80 when we were in New Athens, I saw more famous crowd gather than I have ever seen in my life. Among them was Manos Hadjidakis who admired and applauded him. Giannis was an amazing artist, it was shocking.
He changed shirts every three minutes and Liana and I went and rolled his shirts to dry,” Katie Garbi said of Yiannis Floriniotis.
