A large fire broke out at a furniture store on Poseidonos Avenue in Alimos at 04:20 am on Saturday morning (3.6.2023), which was estimated to be caused by arson causing disruption to residents of surrounding houses.
Only the left lane of Poseidonos Avenue is open to traffic until 06:40 am as the fire department has increased its efforts to put out the fire at the Alimos furniture store. The fire department has said that it has been brought under control.
The furniture store was completely damaged as the residents of the surrounding houses reported that they heard a loud noise in the early hours of the morning, followed by the breaking of glass. When they went out to their balcony, they saw the fire burning.
Apartments in an apartment building above a furniture store in Alimos were evacuated, while residents of neighboring apartment buildings also took to the street.
