Expert RAW now supports the best Samsung smartphones of 2020 – Samsung

Application RAW Expert Samsung offers greater camera control for select Galaxy smartphones, allowing the user to achieve better results.

The app first appeared in beta on the Galaxy S21 Ultra in 2021 and Released to the public with the Galaxy S22 series this year.

Samsung has promised to expand the availability of Expert RAW to the previous generation of Galaxy flagships, including the Galaxy S20 and Note 20 Ultra. The original timeline stated that the app would be compatible with the 2020 Galaxy flagships in the first half of 2022, but due to issues, support has been delayed. Three months ahead of schedule, Expert RAW has finally been updated with support for Samsung’s premium devices.

After the latest update, Expert RAW now works with the Galaxy S20 Ultra, Note 20 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 2. Other phones in the same series – the original Galaxy S20 +, S20, Note 20 and Flip – are not compatible, as they do not meet the minimum requirements the system. However, even on supported smartphones, the app will only work with the 12MP main and ultra-wide cameras.

Samsung’s community coordinator noted in its official announcement that image processing times may be longer on these phones due to the slower access point. Due to the age of the sensors, the image quality may not be as good as newer Galaxy phones. With the latest update, Samsung Expert RAW is available on all phones promised in February 2022.
