Shocking footage shows houses sliding down the hillside and collapsing
Local media reported that the authorities in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh fear that many people will remain trapped after a massive landslide occurred there.
Television networks broadcast pictures of a number of collapsed buildings on the hillside, along with trees and mud, in the state’s Kullu district.
The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh said local authorities identified the danger and evacuated a commercial building two days ago.

Earlier in August, more than 50 people lost their lives again in the same state due to landslides, while houses were flattened and cars and buses were found on the edge of cliffs when roads collapsed.
Unusually heavy rains and melting snow have caused flash floods in the mountainous regions of India, Pakistan and Nepal in recent years.
