It was announced last week that Panai would be leaving Microsoft after 19 years, most recently as head of product, where he oversaw Surface devices and development of Windows 11. Rumors quickly indicated that Panai would move to Amazon to lead the Alexa and Echo teams.
Panay will take over from outgoing D&S President Dave Limb, and the duo will work together for a few months to smooth the transition. Lameness also has a new function. He will leave Amazon to become CEO of Blue Origin, a space company owned by Jeff Bezos.
