Police speculate that the elderly woman may have been having some health problems due to the high speed. He allegedly hit an embankment just before hitting the house.
“This was not a simple case of speeding, but it may have been the result of a medical emergency,” a spokesperson for the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department told KSDK, according to the New York Post.

Inside the house, a little boy was sitting on a bed in the room where the car came in, pushing the bed against the wall. The child was not hurt, according to KMOV, and adults in another room were talking about politics.
Derek Wenzel, who was inside, said the car “could have hit him completely…it didn’t hit him an inch.” Wentzel’s girlfriend and the baby’s parents were also home at the time of the terrifying crash.
The house may have been completely destroyed, according to Wenzel. “They said we might not be able to enter our house at all.”
