With a rocket from Space X, Elon Musk’s aerospace company, the Euklid Space Telescope was launched today, July 1, from Cape Canaveral Space Station in Florida, which aims to provide valuable new glimpses into the “dark side of the universe”, that is, dark matter and dark energy.
Dark matter and dark energy are an essential part of the current accepted model of the creation and evolution of the universe.
It is reported that observations of the past decades revealed that less than 5% of the matter of the universe is in the form of ordinary atoms, while it appears that a much larger amount of dark matter exists based on observations and measurements in cosmic structures such as galaxies. This matter works through gravity, but it is not visible.
On the other hand, scientists invoke dark energy to explain the accelerating expansion of the universe. Euclid is expected to provide additional data to astronomers by mapping the shapes, locations, and motions of two billion galaxies, allowing for a more accurate look at the properties and properties of dark matter and dark energy.
