UNICEF: “The worst bombing since the beginning of the war – huge losses among children”

James Elder, press representative for UNICEF, an organization working for the safety and assistance of children in immediate danger, made a response on the X platform (formerly Twitter), to the resumption of bombings.

Through a 40-second video and a card bearing his statements, the journalist actor leaves no room for what is happening in the Gaza Strip. Its CEO also issued warnings UNICEF And the Red Cross.

“I see huge losses among children. We have a final warning to save children and our collective conscience.”

He talked about the heaviest (meaning the worst) bombing since the beginning of the war, so what is Israel’s response?

“I have no words to describe the horror that befalls the children here.”

James Elder, UNICEF spokesman, responding from Nasser Hospital in the Gaza Strip, began with the aforementioned shocking premise: I feel as if I have run out of ways to describe the horror of children. He went on to say that he feels he almost fails to convey the endless killing of children.

He appealed that maybe if the world could see who was in danger, like the two children he showed to Khaled and Hana, he appealed to the world to pray that they would be alive in the coming days.

In recent days, the press representative spoke to all channels with crews in Gaza to demand an end to the indiscriminate bombing and an immediate “humanitarian ceasefire.”

More than 300 dead in Gaza today alone

The Gaza Civil Defense told Al Jazeera that the number of Palestinian deaths as a result of the occupation air strikes in various areas of the Gaza Strip today exceeds 300 martyrs, and yesterday it reached 700 martyrs, while 7,000 people are still missing, possibly under the rubble.

The Israeli army: “The number is exaggerated and relates to dozens of senior Hamas officials.”

The Israeli army said that the forces control the Al-Rantisi Hospital area in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, in addition to the Jabalia refugee camp, the Al-Shujaiya neighborhood east of Gaza City, and the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood south of the city.

According to the army, the number of casualties reported by the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza following yesterday’s raid on Gaza by the Israeli army is exaggerated, and also includes dozens of senior Hamas officials. The Israeli army claims that there are senior Hamas leaders who were affected by the attacks.

Hamas has not yet confirmed any casualties among senior or high-ranking officials, referring to them by name as is usual.
