Zarko Paspali, after being impressed with the recent performance of the Serbian national team at MundoBasket 2023, is optimistic about the team’s ability to win the gold medal.
Zarco Paspaley, who was interviewed by sports club. The former player for Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, Panionios and Aris clubs even spoke about the reasons why the United States could not achieve what they wanted in this year’s tournament.
“The final is the final. Everyone has equal chances, but Serbia are favourites, I have no doubt about that. Serbia are playing great. What our players showed in the quarter-finals and semi-finals is just ‘fantastic'”.

The Americans did not take this event seriously. They came here with a good team, not the best, but good. But when I watched them, I felt like they didn’t understand the competition. They tortured Steve Kerr, who is a very knowledgeable coach, because they couldn’t get into the game for more than five minutes. Not the best team in America, but almost everyone has a 20 million contract. Money isn’t the most important criterion, but it’s saying something. All USA teams force a one-on-one. They still don’t understand some things.
Germany will not be able to overcome Serbia as easily as it did against the United States. They play fast and shoot well. Although the United States wanted little to reach them in the end. But you can’t keep coming back from -10. This cost them. Serbia, with what it showed in the tournament, is able to beat Germany, the only unbeaten team. This did not happen by chance. They’ve played together for many years, they’ve got players in the NBA, they’re on good teams in the Europa League and the Bundesliga is good.”
